USDZ is a single-file, zipped package of OpenUSD content designed for easy sharing and viewing — most notably for augmented reality on Apple devices, where it powers AR Quick Look. It bundles geometry, materials, and textures into one portable file.
As a delivery wrapper around OpenUSD, USDZ is well suited to consumer AR, while OpenUSD remains the richer, editable format used earlier in production.
